THANK YOU!

Wednesday, August 29th, 2012

A quick note of thanks from the LAS team.

Giving birth to a music festival is a long and tiring process, but when you finally get to see you 10,000+ headed child (that sounds gross but keep with the metaphor) you feel an immense amount of pride and overwhelming joy at the happiness it brings to thousands.

Month 1

We sit around and work out when we want to give birth. When is it going to be sunny, when are you all going to be free to come join us, who else is planning on giving birth on that weekend. Who is playing softball on your festival grounds that weekend…

Month 2

We start adding the magic. COUNTLESS versions of line-ups and potential artists flirt with you and you have more line-up options than you care to think about right now. Some break your heart, some mend it.

Month 3

We unleash the first taste of the festival on the world. Thanks to the iconic Commodore our little launch event/baby shower went amazingly well – all helped by the awesome sounds of Current Swell and The Matinee. Is it really obvious that we love them both a lot? Suddenly The Tragically Hip, Chromeo, Mother Mother, City & Colour and many many more artists become part of our day to day lives and hopefully yours too!

Month 4

We send out our invites and hope you all want to come to the big day.

Months 5-8

Hard work. Website updates. Facebook posts. Ads in the Georgia Straight. Billboards. Bus backs. Interviews. Interviews. Interviews.

Finally, the big day.

Like all births it wasn’t without it’s minor scares along the way (thanks Sea to Sky) but what an awesome weekend it was. Our music festival CANNOT exist without the people that buy tickets to come and experience it. We aim to give you back what you put in and in those festival-only moments (Mother Mother covering Wintersleep, Motown Tribute to Nickelback..) we hope you have some memories that last a life time.

Thanks for sharing our big day

LIVE at Squamish

We’re going to need a bigger poster…

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012

We’re delighted to announce MORE acts added to our already jam packed line-up! Brett Dennen and LP bring some much needed chilled vibes to the festival, Mat the Alien, Mark Farina and Hedspin bring a healthy dose of ‘EDM’ and we’re created a whole new venue at the festival called The Wood Shed.

Our newest venue in the festival will house the Silent Disco during the day and be filled with the house beats of Hebegebe and Kevin Shiu on Saturday and the mash-up magic of Vinyl Richie aka Wicked Lester and Mat the Alien on Sunday. Think of it as a Party-in-a-Box.

Legendary DJ Mark Farina will be providing the party alternative to City & Colour on the Garibaldi Stage on Sunday night while The Hairfarmers and Motown Tribute to Nickelback will inject some mid afternoon energy to get you over those hangovers.

So we make that 40 DJ’s, bands and singers across 2 and a half days of festival fun. We’re going to need a bigger poster…

Welcome!

Monday, February 27th, 2012

Welcome back!! It’s been a while but hopefully the whole trip along the yellow brick road that led you back here was worth it. As you can probably see on the line-up page, we’ve been hard at work behind the curtain bringing you our most exciting group of artists yet.

Hopefully our shiny new website and our awesome new music player from our friends at rdio will allow you to get deeper into the LIVE at Squamish experience than ever before. Brief highlights include:

Our first Glampsite – camp closer to the festival with awesome facilities and private access to the site!

LIVE at Squamish High – our regular camping is 15 minutes away in the grounds of the school. So sign up for LASH and learn Festival 101 from the best tutros we know – us!

Camping

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

We are delighted to announce that we have secured extra camping for the festival this year. Located just a 15 minute walk from the festival we’re taking over Squamish Elementary School fields – LIVE at Squamish High is taking new students!

So what’s awesome about this new camping? Well if you know your Squamish geography (and who doesn’t these days?) it’s right next door to McDonalds and 7/11 and across the road from White Spot, Nesters, Starbucks, A&W and much more – Downtown Squamish is a 10 minute walk  away. No need for some pop up convenience store, no, we offer nothing but the best of the World’s corporate food mixed with the best of Squamish’s independent stores and cafes – variety is the spice of life after all.

This year we’re also offering 3 person camping passes for those people with more than one friend. Cosy. Shuttles will run those who think walking is overrated back and forth all day.

For those wanting to live the high life we’ve also got VIP camping available backstage at the Garibaldi Stage. This camping puts you in the festival site with a gate that spits you out right next to the stage. Campers here will be invited to really embrace the festival camping vibe as we’re running a contest for best decorated tent with a prize of $500! This will be awarded on Sunday morning so be prepared to get those creative muscles flexed…

Tickets for the festival and camping can be bought here
